November 20th, 2008: Perkins Rowe To Host Holiday Extravaganza
The event celebrates the holiday season, and the progress of Perkins Rowe in bringing new establishments to Baton Rouge and becoming home to the residents who will occupy the Lofts and Terraces that have been bought or leased to date.
"When we set out to bring Perkins Rowe to reality, we knew everything about the community would be larger than life. The holiday celebration we have planned is no different," explained Tommy Spinosa, CEO of JTS. "We have something for all ages planned, and it will be topped off with a fireworks extravaganza to rival any Fourth of July."
At 3 p.m., strolling entertainment will be featured among the interior streets of Perkins Rowe. From 5 to 7:30 p.m., Santa will be in front of the illuminated Coca Cola truck at Magnolia Park to headline children's entertainment. Families are encouraged to bring their cameras to take photos with Santa. At 6:30 and 8 p.m., Luther Kent and his 10-piece band will perform live in the Town Square. At 7:30 p.m., the 50-foot Christmas tree will be lit in Magnolia Park to the sounds of the Jefferson Baptist Church Choir and the sights of a fireworks extravaganza.
With more than two million square feet of retail shops, restaurants, movie theatres, fitness center, grocery store, lofts and apartments, Perkins Rowe has created a place like no other for visitors and the local community to shop, dine and be entertained.
With all the doom and gloom on the national news, we just want to be that bright spot in the holiday season for Baton Rougeans and their families," added Paula Biggs, marketing director. "What better way to celebrate the season that with this event?"
The retail shops will be open until 10 p.m. that evening. Additional offsite parking will be provided with shuttles running between 4 and 10:30 p.m.
